Beer is served in either a pot (285ml), a schooner (425ml – most popular) or a pint. The average price for a schooner of beer is around $5 (approx $4).

Want to go out for lunch? An average meal will cost you about $10-$15 AUD (about $8-$12). Pies and burgers are the food of choice, but you can grab a Domino’s or Pizza Hut value pizza for $5 (about $4)!

Taxi/Cab fares start at about $4 and will add $2 ($1.60 approx) for every half a mile.

It’s very easy to get around Australia, whether it’s local trams or buses (approx $4 a ticket =$3.24), trains or planes across the country (domestic tickets as low as $90 = $72) or even car and campervan hire from $33 a day.
