Day 2 - Starting: Madrid & Finishing: Barcelona
Enjoy a short orientation walk around Madrid with a free day to explore. Opt to check out the world-famous museums, do some shopping or enjoy some fantastic food. In the evening, catch a train to Barcelona.
Day 3 - Starting: Barcelona & Finishing: Barcelona
Barcelona is filled with the work of one famous resident, Antoni Gaudí. Opt to visit these masterpieces sprinkled throughout the city. With time, opt to tour the beautiful Palau Musica, a home for catalan music. For nightlife, the highest concentration of young locals dancing can be found near the intersection of Santaló and Mariano Cubi streets. Find good music, good drinks, and lots of fun. Another nightlife spot to meet the fashionable locals is on the Plaza Francesc Maciá.
Day 4 - Starting: Barcelona & Finishing: Granada
Spend another morning exploring the city before an afternoon train to Granada.
Day 5 - Starting: Granada & Finishing: Granada
After visiting the Alhambra, opt to take a wander through the whitewashed historic quarter of the Albaicin, with its narrow lanes and fantastic views. It is a great place to go for sunset. In the evening, opt for a night on the town. The city is filled with trendy tapas bars and has a lively music scene.
Day 6 - Starting: Granada & Finishing: Granada
Spend another day exploring this charming city.
Day 7 - Starting: Granada & Finishing: Seville
Take the time to see all this great city has to offer. Opt to explore the interiors and gardens of the Alcázar, a magnificent palace dating from Moorish times, or the true heart of Seville, the Santa Cruz quarter— a charming area with winding alleys, picturesque lime-washed houses, flowery patios, and small squares. Seville is home to the world’s largest gothic cathedral — climb the adjoining tower for great views of the city. Other attractions include the Museo Arqueológico, the Casa de Pilates and the Parque de María Luisa, which has a maze of paths, garden beds, pretty little patios, fountains, and shaded lawns.
Day 8 - Starting: Seville & Finishing: Chefchaouen
Stop in Tangier for a guided tour of the medina before continuing on to Chefchaouen for the evening. The djellaba, the traditional hooded garment worn by the men and women of North Africa, was created here. Chefchaouen is a great place to check out many of Morocco's ancient crafts.
Day 9 - Starting: Chefchaouen & Finishing: Fès
Travel to the imperial city of Meknes and enjoy lunch at the G Adventures-supported women's project. Later, continue to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis before continuing on to Fes.
Day 10 - Starting: Fès & Finishing: Fès
Enjoy a half-day medina walking tour, with free time in the afternoon to explore more of the city. The Fès medina is the world’s largest living medieval medina and a UNESCO site. Explore the artisan quarters, sample treats from the carts, and view Fès' famous leather tannery from above. In the evening, opt for dinner in a converted riad complete with local specialties, music, and belly dancing.
Only certified local guides are allowed to act as guides in the medina, so your CEO cannot go with you to the medina during free time.
Day 11 - Starting: Fès & Finishing: Casablanca
Travel by train to seaside Casablanca known for its colonial and art-deco buildings.
Day 12 - Starting: Casablanca & Finishing: Marrakech
Visit the spectacular Hassan II mosque and learn more about this masterpiece. Catch the train to Marrakech in time to start exploring the city.
Day 13 - Starting: Marrakech & Finishing: Marrakech
Visit the historical Koutoubia Minaret and gardens, Bahia Palace, the Mellah, and the Saadian Tombs. Later, opt to discover the secrets of this amazing, ancient city. Relax at one of the tea houses around the square, watching the hustle and bustle from a shady spot. End the day like a local with an optional group dinner in the famous food stalls of Djemaa el Fna.
