Welcome to the Pantanal - the world's largest tropical wetland area estimated between 140,000 and 195,000 square kilometres!
The word Pantanal comes from the Portugese word 'pantano', meaning wetland, bog, swamp, quagmire or marsh.
Over the next two days you will explore the rich ecosystems of Pantanal, with a variety of adventures on offer.
You may wish to embark on a jeep safari, canoe trip, walking tour or night safari. Discover not only the abundant wildlife but also the myriad aquatic plants that have flourished here due to high levels of submersion during the wet season. Be sure to learn more about these phenomenal wetlands from your local naturalist guide. Enjoy free time between activities unwinding by the lodge’s pool.

While the jaguars may prove elusive, the black howler monkeys are sure to greet you in Pantanal. Their morning vocalisations, known affectionately as the ‘dawn chorus’, are more of a primal scream than a howl, echoing through the forest for up to five kilometres to assert the presence of the male species in no uncertain terms.
